Victron Energy Smart Battery Sense Long Range

Victron’s Smart Battery Sense is a wireless sensor for monitoring battery voltage and temperature, designed for Victron MPPT Solar Chargers. It helps improve charging efficiency and extends battery life by providing accurate data.

By measuring voltage directly at the battery terminals, Smart Battery Sense avoids errors from voltage loss due to cable resistance, ensuring the correct charge voltage. For lead batteries, it adjusts the charge voltage based on temperature: higher voltage for cold batteries and lower voltage for hot ones. For lithium batteries, it prevents charging when the battery is too cold to avoid permanent damage.

The connection between Smart Battery Sense and solar chargers is wireless, using VE.Smart Network technology based on Bluetooth Smart. This setup allows multiple solar chargers to use the transmitted data simultaneously for the same battery bank. You can easily set up the Smart Network with the VictronConnect app.

Installation is quick and simple. Just connect the unit’s two eyelets to your battery terminals and attach the Smart Battery Sense unit to the battery using its self-adhesive strip.
