Product Info
The Lynx Shunt VE.Can is a smart 1000A shunt with a slot for a fuse (fuse not included, see CNN 325A 80V). Its built-in battery monitor accurately tracks your battery’s state of charge. Use a GX device (e.g., Cerbo GX) to read the information. It is part of the modular Lynx distribution system. The Lynx Shunt VE.Can includes a positive and negative busbar, a battery monitor, and a fuse holder for the main system fuse. It is part of the Lynx Distribution system.
• Lynx Distributor: Equipped with a power LED.
• Communication: The Lynx Shunt VE.Can can communicate via VE.Can with a GX device.
• Components Included: Ships with two RJ45 VE.Can terminators for connecting to a GX device.
• Fuse Holder: Designed to hold a CNN fuse (purchased separately). For more info, see the fusing section in the Lynx Shunt VE.Can manual.
The Lynx Distribution System is a modular busbar system that includes DC connections, distribution, fusing, battery monitoring, and lithium battery management. It consists of the following parts:
• Lynx Power In: A positive and negative busbar with 4 connections for batteries or DC equipment.
• Lynx Distributor: A positive and negative busbar with 4 fused connections for batteries or DC equipment, along with fuse monitoring.
• Lynx Shunt VE.Can: A positive busbar with a space for a main system fuse and a negative busbar with a shunt for battery monitoring, featuring VE.Can communication for monitoring and setup with a GX device.
• Lynx Smart BMS: Designed for use with Victron Energy Smart Lithium batteries. It contains a positive busbar with a contactor driven by a battery management system (BMS) and a negative busbar with a shunt for battery monitoring. It supports Bluetooth communication for monitoring and setup via the VictronConnect App, and VE.Can communication for monitoring with a GX device and the VRM portal.
About Victron Battery Management System (BMS)
Victron’s advanced Battery Management System (BMS) are engineered specifically for their Lithium Smart Batteries, 12.8V and 25.6V models. The BMS establishes direct communication with the lithium battery through the battery’s M8 circular connector cables, it protects the battery cells against potential hazards such as overvoltage, undervoltage, and extreme temperatures. Through its intuitive “load disconnect” and “charge disconnect” terminals, the BMS proactively regulates power flow, mitigating risks and safeguarding battery longevity. A BMS can monitor up to 20 batteries without compromising on reliability, making it an indispensable component for any Victron lithium battery system.
Important:
Always use a Victron BMS with your Victron lithium battery bank. It is strongly advised against using third-party BMS devices with Victron Battery Smart batteries.
System Compatibility:
• The SmallBMS, VE.Bus BMS V2, and Lynx Smart BMS work with 12V, 24V, or 48V systems. Other BMS models are compatible only with 12V systems.
Connection Requirements:
• The SmallBMS and VE.Bus BMS V2 need all loads and chargers to connect directly to the battery. They’ll turn them off if there’s a voltage or temperature issue.
• The Lynx Smart BMS has a safety switch that disconnects the system from the battery in emergencies. It also acts as an on/off switch.
• The Smart BMS 12/200 has a separate output for connecting both loads and chargers. It will disconnect if there’s an issue.
Alternator Protection:
• Some models have a dedicated input for alternators. It regulates the alternator’s supply and prevents reverse current.
Remote Control:
• All models have a remote on/off terminal. Smart BMS models can be controlled via Bluetooth using the VictronConnect app.
Battery Monitoring:
• The Lynx Smart BMS includes a comprehensive built-in battery monitor.
Communication Options:
• The VE.Bus BMS V2 can control inverters or inverter/chargers directly.
• Lynx Smart BMS can communicate with compatible devices via a GX device.
• It can also monitor up to 4 Lynx distributor modules.
Optional Accessories:
• Accessories include cables, adapters, and the VictronConnect app for Smart BMS modules.
System Design Recommendations:
• Choose SmallBMS for systems without inverter/chargers.
• Use VE.Bus BMS V2 for systems with inverter/chargers and a GX device.
• Opt for Lynx Smart BMS for digital integration needs, especially in yachts or recreational vehicles.Â

I combined the Lynx Shunt and the Power In, and I have complete visibility of my system. Couldn’t ask for more.
